Yes, the laptop uses the Intel HM65 chipset, which supports SATA´╗┐ III. Check within your BIOS setup if there is a BIOS/POST screen delay setting, and if there is, set it to 0.

    Did laptop support Sata3?

    I have 2008 Hp Dv5 with Core2Duo P8400, supports Sata2.
120Gb Sandisk Extreme Sata3 SSD works Sata2´╗┐ and boot time is 26 seconds.
But it waits BIOS a lot. Like 14-15 secs.

I was wondering if you can help me or have knowledge of this type of harddrive failure?

My harddrive is seagate from a Apple Laptop and its making a clicking noise. Its stopped working and I’ve taken it to numerous places that have said sorry they can not recover it because it is damaged. They´╗┐ have suggested for me to take it to Lab which can cost anything from 1500-3000 dollars.

I was wondering if there are some other ways this might be able to work? or I can try?
