I am going to get 2 1TB 2.5 inch SSD'd. Half the information on each drive would be easier on the drive.

Hi buddy, thank you for this video, plz would you or some one else answer a very quirk question:
In SATA II the maximum bandwidth is 300 MB/S right ?
If i put two SSDs in a RAID 0 SATA II my total bandwidth will be capped up to 300 MB/S or 600 MB/S ?
What im asking if if each sata port will give me 300 MB/S or 300 MB/S is the maximum BUS speed ? plz tell me is if didnt make myself clear

Wasted bandwidth. Put them in a RAID 10 to keep your data safe and back up to an external book drive for extra measure.

I've seen many reviews of running two HDD's on raid 0, and it's pretty much the same story… "don't use raid 0 incase one drive goes bad then you'll loose all your data." But then you'd still loose it anyways if one drive went bad running no raid. Really doesn't make sense not using raid 0 just because one drive might go bad… Lol. A drive can go bad no matter how you configure em.

Yes but how is it with 8 drives

Thing is though, 3 SSDs with RAID0 is going to be mad fast, boot up windows in 1 second, and jump into any game of your choosing in another 5 seconds. And for gaming, it's not that big a deal if everything breaks, so no need for backing up.

So for the 4th drive you get:
    =~ 20% loss of performance in read [100% – (1322/1658) MB/s]
    =~ 15% loss of performance in write [100% – (976.5/1150) MB/s]

Do you know if this is possible ?
    AHCI SSD to boot from
Two m.2 SSD in raid 0 for scratch
    And 7200rpm for storage
    In a 2010 Mac Pro 12 core 2.93ghz?
Am considering this but am unsure if this would work ,
    Thanks
