This is nothing. Back in 1999, when I was working for AT&T I was given a
tour of the switching facilities in our building. They had at that time a
hard drive with 300mb of data that each platter was about 12″ across and I
believe 5 or 6 platters, I can’t remember. The platters were removable and
weighed several pounds and the machine to run them is about the size of a
small kitchen stove. It was pretty cool….

The smallest hard drive I remember owning in a computer was 100MB, and that
seemed HUGE at the time, I think the computer came with about 20MB when we
bought it. This must have been about 1992, the drive definitely wasn’t
physically that big, so this one must be pre-90’s.

I used to get more work done back when I had 640KB of RAM and a 10MB hard
drive, now I spend most of my day wrestling Windows and trying to get
bloated and over complicated software to work right.
