@rebelcountry33 Unfortunately, if the circuit board doesn’t look exactly
the same, there’s no quick fix. Feel free to email us at support (at)
flashdrivepros (dot) com if you need more assistance.

my computer a window pops up (Do you want to scan and fix). But it starts
the the usb cuts off and the window appears again. How can I retrieve my

Are there any “around the house” tools I can use to short the second
resistor? I am not sure what you were using. Did you have some sort of
current going through the “pinchers” or were you just squeezing with
    something. Thanks.

Thanks a million FBR! I had a 2gb SanDisk Cruzer wasn’t sure if it would
work since it a lil different inside than the 4gb used in the video. I took
a picture of the Capacitor that I broke off in order for windows to be able
to read drive. Anyone who liked to know contact me. I then used male/female
usb adaptor like this video, Windows 7 desktop but DIDN’T have to jump
anything it automatically installed drive, which allowed me to rescue the
data. BTW the drive still works even now.

I bet mine at 5 degree angle. You think it’s repairable? The light comes on
and it did say “Device found” but not anymore.

@roger12363 Glad we could help! Now don’t forget to back it up! We offer a
program called FDP Sync that does it automatically. You can download a free
    trial on our website.

i just fixed my cruzer 2gb which was not working. maybe the u3 drivers went
bad. i inserted another working 2gb cruzer and told windows to look there
for the usb drivers. computer didn’t like the drivers or location, but i
then repeatedly inserted the bad cruzer. finally had a drive appear for a
minute. quickly did a copy/paste of the data. it worked.

do you actually put it in the computer as you are pinching the resistor?

@tototaya This hack will probably not help you since your flash drive
probably has logical filesystem corruption not the shorted capacitor and
    blown 0 ohm resistor-as-fuse problem.

@FlashBackRecovery Surely since the components are the same and only the
orientation is different it could work?
