Great video! Hi Bryce, I have a question in which I would like your
    advice/opinion.
I have a seagate backup plus in which I have accidentally dropped. The
distance of the fall was about 1.5ft-2ft. After replugging in the USB cable
and AC adapter, I hear a “beep” sound and it is not detectable. Can you
please advise? I cannot afford to have it checked or data recovered by
outside source as it can reach the thousands. As I am in my desperate stage
as there are so many memorable files in this external, any opinion shared
    is greatly appreciated!

Very helpful. I have the same freeagent go, i think the usb adapter thing
attached to the ide is what’s failing although I am not sure, but I just
wanna ask is there a way i could check if it is still working without the
    coolmax usb adapter?

In my opinion, yes, it’s a great way to test it out. You might find that
the hard drive wasn’t damaged, but maybe the enclosure (and interface) was.
That’s really the story of this video.

Probably. Sony likes to make their cords proprietary, so you might end up
having to swap out the enclosure. At least that way you’ll have a regular
    USB port.

will this work on my sony 1tb external hard drive? Somehow the port
    wouldn’t accept any cord. :/
