These tools (Head Combs) will help to change the magnetic heads on Western Digital HDD easily. Replacing the head will help to restore the data from a broken hard disk. This is only a promotional video. When working with patient drives, clean room standards must be followed.

You can find more information about these tools and many other tools used for data recovery on our website.

WD’s enterprise grade RE4 server level drives are basically like their desktop drives in terms of performance and capacity, except they are significantly more reliable and also more expensive.

How much do you charge for this service on a 2.5 laptop hard drive?

As someone else wrote, at 2:55 even with the support of the other finger, the heads just cannot be removed. I even busted my HDD because of this and still I cannot find the way how I could remove it though now I am not afraid to use full power with a plier.

I followed these steps also, but the only part that I got stuck on was when pulling the head up. In the video it easily slides up, but I'm not getting the same result. Seems to be on there pretty hard. Any tips?

Also when taking out the magnet, isn't the pull very strong?

    Thank you~

Are you using DrivePool from Stablebit for your HD pool?  I love me my RAID's but I recently came across DrivePool and am quite impressed.

I bought 9 of the RE4's for my 8 bay raid5 and they're awesome. I did a bunch of research and landed on these because of reliability purposes.

I believe the Caviar Black is a consumer aimed product, while the RE4 is specially designed for server use. Since you plan to use this as a 24 hour server, I believe the RE4 would be most suitable.

I set my cats up in an array, these drives really work for about everything.

Does anyone know how the Caviar Black stacks up against the RE4? I understand that they have the same; spin speeds, cache size, and warranty. Is there any real benefit for the extra $10? Or are the RE4s for mission critical situations, where no downtime is allowed? Because I want this for a 24 drive RAID 10 server.

Kitty fur + static discharge = DOA.

Of course. Didn't read that a scientist recently found out that house pets, like cats and dogs, have these, apparently harmless parasites that alter human behavior, affecting the nervous system mainly, in such a specific way that pushes people to do things they wouldn't have ever considered doing otherwise?
