Showing you how to open up a Western Digital My Passport Ultra 1TB USB 3.0 External Hard drive. HUGE DISCLAIMER: This ISN’T a standard 2.5 inch hard drive that you can put into a laptop. The usb controller is built onto it. It will never be anything but a USB hard drive, you cannot use it internally, the end.

    Hey, i don't know whether u knw this by now bt u can use a old wd hdd circuit bord and replace it with the portable hdd u removed from the my passport. it worked for me bt be sure to use a dust free environment as possible.

    I must ask though… If you paid $90 for that external disk, then why not spend that money on a real internal hard disk? πŸ˜€ internal disks are cheaper than external ones.

    thanks mate, I know I cannot put a regular SATA drive inside WD case, I will need a SATA-USB adapter instead

    If you have a spare or old WD sata HDD, you could remove the sata port with its pcb and replace it to the one on your new WD so you could use it on your laptop.

    Its not necessary to do this… if you hava strong nails… itΒ΄s easier and you dont damage the case. πŸ˜‰

    For "queue crushing realisation" you need "CUE crushing realisation" for future reference!
    Hope you don't need to use that phrase again though, lol.
