There is the option on the remote for the tv but how do I connect it to operate the tv. Do I need a Panasonic tv too. I've had this box for around 3 yrs and still don't know. However it's absolutely great for a usual user and not a massive tech head that wants it to make their dinner as well. Extra freeview channels as well as internet channels too. Works better with Ethernet connection cos Wi-Fi can be a bit weak. You do need to buy a usb adapter for the back tho for Wi-Fi. Panasonic are Ā£35+ EBay comparable are Ā£5 ish.

Does anyone know how to use external hard drives in the same machine.
I recently bought a new Panasonic because the old one was failing a bit.
I assumed that the external hard drives would work in the new one because it's the same model but it just asks me to format the drives which I obviously don't want to do.

H**lo. I have just bought one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B015341TUM/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

    Model number: DMR-HWT250EB.

Can anybody confirm whether it is possible to access Amazon Prime (LoveFilm) for streaming video via this machine? I have read that what you need to do is select the "Function" menu, then "Network Service", then the options should include "Amazon Prime" and "YouTube", neither of which I have yet spotted.

Can anybody confirm whether this is the correct thing to do?

    Many thanks in advance. šŸ™‚

I have the DMR-HWT150-EB model. So far does everything it's supposed to, and does it well. Just one little niggle: why, oh, why don't manufacturers give you a b**ton on the remote to allow you to page up and down the menus? With hundreds of channels to choose from, it's a pain in the fucking arse having to scroll through them one item at a time.

Whichever advertising agency came up with that load of tosh should be sacked. It was style over substance. Do I really want to see this box placed in an unrealistic home? No! I would like FACTs about what the box can do, what the user interface looks like – we did get a sneak view. Hey, the program guide is 3 hours wide, unlike most other STBs which only show 2 hours (a pet peeve). Instead of highlighting this USP, there is all the arty f**ty crap. Whoever OKed this in Panasonic needs to be sacked as they clearly don't understanding what the customer needs to know. Consequently I won't be buying Panasonic.
