Expanding its acclaimed line of notebook PCs, Premio Computer, Inc. introduces the new Kaypro L1000. The Kaypro L1000 targets education, government and small business users who desire a value-priced notebook with solid performance and optional wireless capability. Powered by the Intel® Celeron® M mobile processor, the 5.5-lb. notebook supports up to 2GB of DDR266 memory, and features a 14.1-inch XGA screen, a standard 40GB hard drive, and a DVD/CDRW combo drive.

Other integrated features on the Kaypro L1000 include Intel Extreme Graphics 2, 10/100 Ethernet, audio and 56K modem. The Intel® PRO/Wireless 2100 802.11b module is optional. The L1000 also contains distinctive features not found in competitors’ comparable models, such as a PS/2 port for legacy input devices, three USB 2.0 ports, and an optional second battery for extended use. Customers can choose from a wide variety of industry-leading components to customize the L1000 to their individual performance needs.

“The Kaypro L1000 is truly the ultimate combination of value and performance. It is the ideal choice for budget-conscious notebook users, with a lower price than the Dell Latitude D505, Fujitsu LifeBook E4000, and Gateway 200X. Whether you want a notebook that is wired or wireless, for performing office tasks on the go or just enjoying a DVD, the L1000 offers the flexibility to do it all, at a very reasonable price,” says Premio product manager Gary Li.

The Kaypro L1000 measures 12” wide by 10.6” long by 1” high and has numerous ports, including PCMCIA type II, RJ45, RJ11 56Kbps, DC-In, external VGA, speaker out, MIC/line-in, USB 2.0, TV-out, IEEE 1394, and PS/2. 16-bit Sound Blaster Pro compatible sound and speakers are included. The L1000 is available with Windows XP Professional or Home edition, and comes with a standard 1 year limited warranty, with extended warranties also available.
