Just bought one of these and so far so good. Copied a heap of photo files
and back-up images across to it. About 26-27 MBs so I guess that is o.k.
for USB 2.0 Drive and power adapter barely warm. So quiet I had to turn off
TV and put my ear right on the drive before I could hear it. As it was made
in late 2011 I am hoping Seagate may have quietly fixed problems with these.

I have one of these drives and it’s the biggest piece of crap ever, all it
does is click. It will work fine for about 10 seconds then it clicks for
about 10 minutes. I am trying to coppy files (120 gb ) to it now, I started
at 730 am and it’s still going now 3:11 pm. Wouldn’t waist my money ever
again on a nother seagate product. I contacted support and they said run
sea tools, I did and cause it reported no error they wouldn’t replace it.

Btw this is the desktop version so it has a power cord and its not meant to
be moved around alot. Seagate also sells a portable one so it only uses usb
    and is portable
