you don't get new heads but find an identical donor replacement drive and use that comb with the good head long enough to get the information off the disk then get rid of the disk and use a brand new one.

I thought you had to make sure that the platters were turning while you move the heads ?  Is this not true or is it true for only some drives?

great guide, very helpful! This is my first external harddrive, and I'm just wondering what would be the point of having a partition thats exFAT as opposed to just making the whole external hard drive exFAT?

Hiya, hope this message finds you well. I wanted to know I have copy and pasted my photos on my mac (not my iPhoto) to my new seagate expansion 1TB hard drive and its still transfering over as i have around 2500 photo's. However i wanted to know once the photos are backed up can I delete photos on the photos app on my mac so that I can free up space?

H**lo. I wanted to copy a program I accidentally erased on my Mac but that is still in a Time Machine copy from some time ago. When I drag it from the Time Machine copy on the Seagate external drive to my Mac it sais "Cannot open the file because it is in a Time Machine copy"? What do I do wrong? Thank you

Hi, thank you so much for this tutorial. It really helped me out 🙂 I have a question though.. I'm not sure how many partitions I'll be needing. Is it possible to change the amount of partitions later on? Or would this damage or delete the content on the hard drive? I have a Seagate 2TB Expansion. Thank you so much :-)
