Seagate Backup Plus Slim Uncasing - How to Extract the Hard Drive

I wanted to show everyone how to uncase a Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB Hard Drive. Extracting the HD is very easy and if you are careful you won’t damage the outer case. I will be using the hard drive in my PS4 but you can also put it into a laptop if you wish.

FYI: These drives, once the USB adapter is removed (as long as it is taped on like in the video) can also be setup and installed in a Xbox One.

Have you found that once you put this drive in the ps4 tray, the screws don't line up when the drive is laying flat in the tray? How do people remedy that?

Why wouldn't you just buy a HDD to swap in. Seems unnecessary to pay the enclosure/cable premium on an external drive?

Just wanted to thank you again for this video, I got this hard drive today and had the case off in seconds thanks to your advice using the guitar pick, I did not have a pick but used a card from a phone sim card so almost like a credit card so it was a similar thickness plastic. I seen so many people fighting the case with a screw driver, your way is so much simpler.

Thanks for the vid. I was having a little trouble getting the case off. This helped a lot. No-one else mentioned that a guitar pick was perfect for the task.
