The Guardian Series of Internal Hard Drives

January 16, 2017 Jon 25 Comments

Seagate is proud to announce its new internal drives. The Guardian Series is comprised of the BarraCuda line of Personal Compute and Gaming drives, the IronWolf line of NAS and RAID drives and the SkyHawk line of Surveillance drives. The series launch is aligned with the achievement of a key storage technology milestone: the introduction of high performance 10TB-capacity drives across an entirely new product portfolio.

SSD vs HDD or hard drive is a question that I get a lot, so I took a few minutes to answer it for you. Enjoy 🙂

Get an SRAM SSD with battery, this way it won't deteriorate with writes and will be even faster.

This is why data centers use hard drives. They are more reliable when it comes to long term storage and they are cheaper.

I like how Linux is a tech reviewer that doesn't just say "SSD's are king. End of show". He acknowledges that they are completely different and have different advantages. Keep it up Linus!
