With a ,000 Price tag. This External desktop SSD claims to be the World’s fastest Thunderbolt 3 Desktop Storage for both Mac and PC. With the Introduction of the Bolt3, Lacie debuted the breakthrough performance potential of Dual Thunderbolt 3 I/O and paired it with the absolute fastest SSDs on the market. With a pair of M.2 PCIe SSDs striped together into a 2TB volume, claiming speeds of up to 2800MB/s.

Boasting those kinds of speeds, dramatically speeds up tasks in your post-production workflow. Ingest RAW footage from RED or Blackmagic cinema cameras in a fraction of the time. Transcode 4/5/6K footage much faster using Adobe® Premiere Pro or DaVinci. Perfect for Daisy chaining multiple monitors and high speed storage

But in real world use, How much of this speed do you actually get?

It's too big to be portable. It's ideal to keep the files you're working with on SSD and store the rest on a server (I use Drobo but don't recommend them). The Samsung T5 is 2TB for $750 and is tiny enough to carry in your pocket (even skinny jean pockets). 2TB will cover most poeple's open projects. If you need 4TB of space than this may be a solid oprion; although you can grab two T5s and a thunderbuld 3 dock for cheaper.

It's not the fastest, and TRIM does not work in RAiD0 and will destroy your SSD. RAID is stupid.

Most overpriced drive ever but not a real difference we know this cause m2s dont show a big difference from a regular ssd so this is just dumb to get

The loss of performance would disturb me 2800 dropping to 2200 MB/ps losing 100 is acceptable but 600 is virtually false advertising. Taking it as is with the 600 drop would make me make sure there is no better product for a similar price. The fusion io drive octal hits 6.7 gb/ps but is still high price but and has still been around for 6 years now.

Hi there TeQreation, I just subscribed to your channel; I like your reviews. Here is my Q: what is the brand / model of your monitor arm? I'm sure you were asked this before, but I'd appreciate a response.

Nope. would buy Internal Sumsung Evo Pro 850 , affordable in comparison, fast as h**l, applications are smooth to run because the read speed is supersonic, as for writing, I personally would send the write to an external drive and let the computer use read as seperating reading and write is less stress on drives anyway.

also! It doesn't look like this external is using top of the line m.2's, which is kinda sad tbh. That newst smasung 960 pro is fucking fast at 3500mB.

yooooo! You should specify in this video that this isn't the run in the mill sata iii connected ssd! I've actually been looking for a nvme m.2 external forever, and this is the first thing i've seen! That enclousre seems sooooo cool too! Honestly, for many smaller time editors having those nvme speeds are gooooooood. Even with just 1tb of it as a working drive then using a back up HDD for things–many freelance editors would see a dramatic uptick in performance.
